Will we drown? Will we drown? Will we drown? How bad could it be, how bad could it be? Shall we swim? Shall we swim? Shall we swim? How good could it be? How bad could it be? Ship's on Fire. Mermaids beckon. Ship's on fire, how good could it be? How bad could it be? He says drain the ocean, build a desert. He says drain the ocean. How bad could it be? How good could it be?

Put on your dark sunglasses if that's the only way you can bear to look at me. But if I'm glowing it's cause it's you I see. Open your trembling hands. Do they shake like leaves? Do they shake from hunger? Do they want to grab hold of me? We're under the moon you and I and it's breaking the stars and sky. Then you packed up your trembling hands. And you put away your eyes. And you closed my heart. And you waned the moon. And you said "I don't think that I should see you very soon"

A tree can't love a tree. It has to love a bee. And so with I and thee. And so with you and me (he). And I love you so well, that we don't have to tell. But I've loved him so long, that I can sing this song (on). And no one has to pay for all the words we'll say, and it will be ok, even if we both have lovers (hers). Our branches will entwine and make a holy vine, and it will climb and climb. Far above the others (hers). And no one has to pay for all the words we'll say and it will be ok, even if we both have lovers.

Silent Years 03:30
In your silent years we laid on the couch a lot we read books that hurt us bad we read them again once we'd forgot. Our faces smooth as clay, our lips were closed and dry as if we had nothing to say or as if we lacked the strength to try and I can taste the bitter but I cannot shed a tear. Words were your silent foes they get between you and what you think you know they crowded in your lover's heart and sent her away to try to restart and I can taste the bitter but I cannot shed a tear. In your silent years we laid on the couch a lot we thought that we knew all there was to know but that turned out to be not a lot.

You're standing on the rocks, climbing on the rocks, climbing on the rocks, falling on the rocks, falling on the rocks, standing on the rocks, standing on the rocks, climbing on the rocks. I've laid under you in the shape of a heart. I've laid under you in the shape of a star. But oh my love, oh my love, in the bright white light your eyes gave me a fright. You're standing on the rocks, climbing on the rocks. Climbing on the rocks, falling on the rocks. Falling on the rocks, standing on the rocks. Climbing on the rocks, falling on the rocks.

I love you wage slave but this country's cold. This country is cold you say it's what we've got. But rather than watch you work your fingers down to the bone, I would kidnap you and make you my own....possession. But if we were floating in a socialist zeppelin, my leftist Brethren could offer you protections. I'd still be a parasite cause I'd still be an artist. You know, I would nearly kill to see which system fucks us hardest. I love you wage slave but this country's cold. This country is cold you say it's what we've got. But rather than watch you work your fingers down to the bone I would kidnap you and make you my own. My father told me it is perfectly simple. Don't outrun the monster, just outrun the people. That's a dastardly solution. That's a Big Red Herring, but I haven't got a better one that wouldn't call for sharing. I love you wage slave but this country's cold.....is that the shadow round your eyes, is that the shadow on your heart or are you tired from your day and now I've torn you apart?

What do You wanna do? In July, In July. What Do you wanna do? In July In July. You don't know what you wanna do. You don't know what, you don't know why. I'm gonna cry. I'm gonna cry. I'm gonna cry, cry hot hot tears, in July in July. When the sun beats down the sun is open wide. The sun is there to keep me warm. I will not need your slender form, in July In July. It was too hot to keep you close, it was too hot to keep you close, it was too hot to keep you close, and I burned you just like the sun, and I burned you just like the sun, and I burned you just like the sun...In July In July.

Prairie Kids 04:55
In the Summer in that City we were art kids in our cars heading out across the highway to admire falling stars but...I know you wanna run prairie kids to the sea to the city to the shore. Night swimming in the darkness in a tangled glowing mass lighting fires with our boy scouts drinking deeply from that glass, though....I know you wanna run prairie boy, to the sea to the city to the shore. Our small midwestern college town's almost no place at all, you were 'pre-destined' for greatness, just to stay would mean to fall...fall down on grass like fur taken up in the whirlwind. All the years that passed they broke us like a plough will break the land. Now we're flailing in the ocean, now we've got no place to stand, so....there's nowhere left to run to prairie kids, not the sea. Not the greasy greasy shore.

"Cops and MTA workers on the ... [subway] platforms upstairs are doing their damnedest to look nonchalant about her performance, self-accompanied on cello, but I'm not buying it, because this is just too beautiful."-- Village Voice

"Meaner Pencil uses the cello like another voice and sings like a cello. Rich, warm music, and brave" --Rorschach Herschel
